Delicious Air Fryer Chicken Legs

In this article, I will be showing you how to make your own blackened chicken legs using an air fryer. I will also show you how to make your blackened seasoning. No need to run out to the store and buy your own. And I’m pretty sure you probably have everything you need to make this in your cupboard right now.

So with that, let’s go ahead and get started.

In a small bowl add one tablespoon of regular paprika and a tablespoon of smoked paprika, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, one tablespoon of onion powder, one tablespoon of dried thyme, one teaspoon of kosher salt, and half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. You could go with less or more. That is totally up to you. And that is it for our blackened seasoning. All I need to do is mix this up very well and our blackened seasoning is ready. Set this mixture aside.

Now pick your chicken legs and put them in a small bowl and add a little bit of oil to these chicken legs. I’m going to be using ghee oil for this. Ghee is clarified butter. It’s heated up and the milk solids are taken out.
Feel free to use any kind of oil you like. Rub the oil into the legs and then rub the blackened seasoning all over the chicken legs.

Place the chicken into the air fryer tray one by one next to each other. Put them inside the air fryer and set the temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and the timer for 20 minutes. About halfway in remove the tray and flip the chicken and put it back to cook for the remaining 10 minutes.

Remove the chicken and I can see the chicken has cooked perfectly. Serve them hot with the ketchup of your choice.
